When any visitors entering, they are ask of their intention of entering our community. They are then requested to register for pass with their mykad or driver license (with photo) before allow entry. It's their duty bound to refuse entry if visitor not willing to register.
Guards are being scold at!
Some visitors who refuse to provide ID for registration, rudely ask what rights have the guards to request them to register. Simply answer is,the Security guards have been issued a Standing Operation Procedure by our Kawasan Rukun Tetangga Committee and empower them to exercise our KRT power to restrict suspicious persons from entering our community area as a security precaution. Why suspicious? If your intention of entering our community area is of genuine reason, what harm is there to have your details recorded? Failing to identify yourself, we will doubt your real intention of entering our community area, thus we deem you to be a suspicious person.By depositing your ID with the guard,he might do something illegal with it.....If they are capable to do anything with your ID,then they wouldn't be there as Security guards in the first place!
Best remark is "lain tempat tak payar" (not required in other place), sorry you are entering our "tempat" not "lain tempat",so please follow our requirement.
Some regular visitors (kindergarten/day care patrons) shouts at the guard that they are going to the kindergarten/day care. Yes, you may be a regular visitor but YOU ARE NOT OUR RESIDENT, you still need to register if our guards insist. In fact they are required to register,as per the SOP.
Famous one~ "Saya masuk sikit jap" (I enter for a while only) or "saya angkat orang sahaja" (I am picking up someone only" Wonder what has this got to do with registering for pass. You still need to enter our community area, right!
Residents with Security Pass but not display on windshield. They question our Security guards or give them the "stare" The Security Pass is issued to you for easy indentification of you being a resident of our community, so please use it.
THE WORST!
The have been cases where residents confront our security guards for asking their visitors to register. One even threatened our guard with a baton. The Kawasan Rukun Tetangga committee will not condor such act, we will not hesitate to report to the police of such incident and pursue the case until prosecution.
WHY GIVE THEM A HARD TIME? Their presence is not to inconvenience you but to safeguard our community.
Bright side of things
There are a few residents who to treat the guards well. By waving and smiling at the guards, this little gesture goes a long way, our guard will feel appreciated. Some buy them drinks and some even buy food for them, this is some way of showing their appreciation. But we don't strongly recommend that nor we against the practise.
Show them sympathy and cooperate with them, after all we meet almost daily.
Updated 6th June
Visitor said to our guard "U bukan orang Malaysia (You are not a Malaysian)". They should reply to these rude visitors like this "U bukan penduduk disini (You are not a resdent here)". So please register!!!
